Jim Lowman was on a fishing trip in Alaska when a fall led to a traumatic brain injury. Jim spent four months at Providence Alaska Medical Center with his wife Maggie by his side through his brain surgery and long recovery. They were overwhelmed with gratitude for Dr. Estrada Bernard, the brain surgeon who treated Jim. Maggie said of their time with Dr. Bernard: “…he stayed positive even when my faith faltered on occasion." He always said, ‘Give him time. He WILL wake up.”
